More than 8 million people in New York City may face an increased risk of flooding, according to research by the U.S. Geological Survey.

New research warns that new buildings in the city can increase the risk of flooding and highlights the need to adopt strategies in this regard.

According to foreign media, researchers have estimated the weight of all buildings in New York City to be about 842 million tons.
