The phenomenal bowling abilities of Pakistani pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi have been praised by English cricketer Alex Hales, who referred to him as “one of the best new-ball bowlers.”
With a delivery that removed Hales from the game and increased Pakistan’s chances of winning the match, Shaheen garnered attention during the 2022 T20 World Cup final.
Hales, who will soon play alongside Afridi for the Notts in the 2023 Vitality Blast, lauded the Pakistani bowler for his flawless technique and said that after being bowled out by Afridi in the final match, he had no doubts about the bowler’s calibre.
“In my opinion, with the late swing he gets from a six-foot-7 frame, Shaheen is one of the best new-ball bowlers in the world,” said Hales. “It was a lovely ball from him early on, and it meant I spent a lot of time in the changing rooms watching our chase.” It was a pretty long and nervy hour and a half or so!
