Apple Offers Free Replacements for iPhone 18 Pro Max Users With Connectivity Issues

Apple has confirmed a cellular connectivity problem affecting a small number of iPhone 18 Pro Max users on AT&T’s network in the United States. Affected phones can lose cellular service, leaving users unable to make calls, send texts or use mobile data.

The company said devices that have already lost service cannot be restored through a software update and will need to be replaced. Affected customers have been advised to contact Apple Support or AT&T, or visit an Apple Store or AT&T location. Reports indicate that eligible replacements are being provided at no charge.

Apple has also released iOS 27.0.1 and a carrier settings update aimed at preventing the problem from affecting additional devices. The carrier update is being rolled out automatically to AT&T users, while it can also be triggered through the phone’s settings.

Apple has not disclosed the exact cause of the problem or the number of affected phones. The company has said that, so far, it has identified the issue only with iPhone 18 Pro Max devices using AT&T’s network. Other iPhone models and carriers have not been reported as affected.
