Pakistan’s Olympic javelin champion Arshad Nadeem has decided to skip the Lausanne Diamond League meeting in Switzerland and focus on training in South Africa. The event is scheduled for August 21, 2026. Nadeem was initially included in the entry list for the competition.
According to reports, Nadeem will attend a two week training camp in Potchefstroom, South Africa. He is currently training at Punjab Stadium in Lahore and plans to continue his preparation abroad. The decision comes after his participation in the 2026 Commonwealth Games.
Nadeem is using the training camp to prepare for his upcoming international events. His schedule includes the Ultimate World Athletics Championships in Budapest and the Asian Games in Japan.
The South Africa camp is also familiar territory for Nadeem. He trained there before the Paris Olympics, where he won the javelin gold medal with an Olympic record throw of 92.97 metres.
