Asad Umar Assesses The South Balochistan Development Program’s Progress

Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Asad Umar presided over a meeting to examine the status of the South Balochistan Development Plan’s projects, expressing satisfaction with their progress.

Consolidated efforts have led to the successful completion of Phase-I of the South Balochistan Development Package (SBDP), culminating in the listing of approved projects in PSDP 2021-22 and the allocation of funds, in line with the prime minister’s vision for the development of Pakistan’s underprivileged and underdeveloped areas.

Planning Minister Asad Umer inspected the progress on Phase-II of the Southern Balochistan Development Plan and expressed satisfaction with the development on SBDP projects in order to guarantee that authorized projects are implemented at a faster speed.

While reviewing the status of new projects to be funded through the Federal Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), the planning minister noted that 90 percent of the projects, or Rs 234.315 billion, have been approved and included in the Federal PSDP 2021-22, with Rs 25.721 billion allocated in the current fiscal year.

Similarly, the current fiscal year’s budget for different authorized and continuing PSDP projects totaling Rs. 274.689 billion is Rs. 29.160 billion.
