Asif Ali wins ICC player of the month for October 2021

Asif Ali has been named the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Men’s Player of the Month for October, following a remarkable knock during the present T20 World Cup.

According to the ICC website, Laura Delany of Ireland won the women’s category as well.

“Asif won the men’s award over Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan and Namibia’s David Wiese, and Delany won the women’s award over teammate Gaby Lewis and Zimbabwe’s Mary-Anne Musonda,” according to the BBC.

It was observed that Asif scored 52 runs without conceding a wicket in three T20 World Cup matches for the Green Shirts in October, batting at a strike rate of 273.68.
