At least 11 more people lost their lives and 25 others were injured in rain-related incidents across Pakistan over the past 24 hours, raising the nationwide monsoon death toll to 97 since June 26.
The latest casualties were caused by heavy rainfall, house collapses, drowning incidents, and lightning strikes as severe weather continued to affect multiple parts of the country.
Punjab recorded the highest number of casualties during the reporting period, with seven deaths and 20 injuries.
Additional fatalities and injuries were also reported from Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan, where persistent rainfall has disrupted normal life and increased safety risks for residents.
The ongoing monsoon season has caused widespread destruction across the country. According to official figures, at least 447 houses have been damaged, while 269 livestock have been lost due to flooding and other weather-related incidents.
In the northern regions, particularly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan, landslides and rising water levels have damaged roads, disrupted transportation, and hampered relief efforts.
Authorities continue to urge the public to exercise caution, avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rainfall, and follow official weather advisories as more rain is expected in several parts of Pakistan in the coming days.
