Atleast 10 Found Dead as Karachi Sees ‘Hottest Day’ in 8 Years

At least 10 people lost their lives in Karachi during a strong heatwave, as the city experienced its hottest day in several years. Temperatures went above 44°C, making it the highest level recorded since 2018.

Reports showed that several individuals were found in different parts of the city, including homes, streets, and mosques.

Some were already in critical condition when discovered and later passed away while receiving medical care. Initial information suggests that extreme heat and related health issues were the main reasons behind these deaths.

The intense weather conditions have made daily life difficult for residents. Many people are struggling to cope with the high temperatures, especially those who spend long hours outdoors or do not have access to proper cooling facilities.

Murad Ali Shah expressed sadness over the situation and urged citizens to take precautions. He advised people to avoid going outside unnecessarily, drink plenty of water, and take steps to stay cool during the extreme heat.

Earlier, the Pakistan Meteorological Department had warned about the possibility of very high temperatures in the region. Authorities are now closely monitoring the situation and encouraging people to follow safety guidelines.

The ongoing heatwave highlights the serious impact of extreme weather on public health. Officials continue to stress the importance of awareness and preventive measures to reduce risks and protect lives during such conditions.
