Audi Unveils its Most Powerful EV e-tron GT

Audi, the German car maker, has introduced its latest four-door electric coupé, the Audi e-tron GT. The new electric flagship of the company is being manufactured at Audi’s specialized facility in Bollinger Hofe, Germany and will cost about EUR 99,800.

Two models of the Audi e-tron GT will be available—the RS e-tron GT and the e-tron GT quattro—both powered by two electric motors and fed by an 85 kWh battery, similar to the Porsche Taycan. The transmission of the e-tron GT was also borrowed from the Taycans. As both Audi and Porsche are members of the Volkswagen group of companies, the same chassis and battery platform is shared by the e-tron GT and Taycan.

With 598 PS, the Audi RS e-tron GT is the most powerful EV ever produced by the carmaker, while the e-tron GT quattro edition has a peak power of 476 PS. The overboost mode brings the figure up to 637 hp and 522 hp in both models, respectively.

The quattro version can do 0 to 100 kmph in 4.1 seconds while the RS model does same in 3.3 seconds, both in boost mode. Audi reports that the top speed is limited to 245 kmph for the quattro trim and 250 kmph for the RS trim. Audi states that 487 kms will be the range of the e-tron GT. The EV will come with 20-inch wheels, while the RS edition gets 21-inch wheels.
