Pat Cummins, Australia’s Test skipper, has spoken about hearing Adhan from the distant mountains while practising at the Pindi Cricket Stadium.
Australia is touring Pakistan for the first time in 24 years, playing three Tests, three One-Day Internationals, and a Twenty20 International.
With two days left in the first Test, Rawalpindi is in the thick of it. Cummins learned about Friday prayers and why they will have an extended first session on this specific day in his essay for Code Sports before the commencement of the first Test.
“During training on Tuesday, there was a cool moment when the call to prayer from Rawalpindi sounded across the ground with the mountains off in the distance,” Cummins wrote.
