Babar Azam Dominates T20I Record Books with Second Most Hundreds

With his third T20I century against New Zealand onĀ April 15, Babar Azam broke numerous records and elevated his game. He attained the milestone on the final ball of the innings.

Babar held the innings together after their normal large opening partnership, which this time finished at 99, and ensured Pakistan reached close to 200.

However, with three overs remaining, it appeared as though Babar, who was 65 off 46 at the time, may miss out on a century. He then struck Matt Henry for 16 runs in three balls to move above 80, before a strong penultimate – from Ben Lister put the Pakistan skipper back again.

Babar is known for being one of the most reliable short-form batters, and this hundred elevated him to new heights. His nine centuries throughout all T20s place him in second place overall, but he still has a ways to go to catch Chris Gayle, who has 22 tonnes. He now has three hundreds as T20I captain, the most of any player.
