Babar Azam Jumps to 3rd Place in ICC Test Rankings

In the latest update from the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday, Pakistani cricketers have experienced notable improvements in their ICC rankings, indicating their growing prowess and influence in international cricket.

Starting with the Test format, Babar Azam, the premier batsman for Pakistan, has demonstrated exceptional performance, advancing two spots to secure the prestigious third position in the Test batters list.

This ascent in the rankings is a testament to Babar’s consistency and skill as a top-order batsman.

Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan have also showcased their talent and determination, with each of them moving up one spot to attain the 14th and 17th positions, respectively, in the Test batters list. Their contributions have been pivotal in bolstering Pakistan’s batting lineup in the Test arena.

In the bowling department, Shaheen Afridi’s impressive form has been duly recognized, as he has climbed one position to re-enter the top 10 in the Test bowling rankings. Shaheen’s ability to consistently trouble batsmen with his pace and swing has been instrumental in Pakistan’s bowling success in Test matches, making him a vital asset for the team.

Transitioning to the One Day International (ODI) format, Babar Azam continues to lead the way as the top-ranked ODI batter. His position at the summit is under threat from India’s Shubman Gill, who trails closely in the second position, just 23 points behind.

This competition between two talented batsmen highlights the intense rivalry and skill level present in the ODI arena, adding excitement to future encounters between Pakistan and India.

The improvements in ICC rankings for Pakistani cricketers underscore the team’s progress and competitiveness on the international stage. With players like Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi leading the charge, Pakistan looks poised to continue making strides and achieving success across all formats of the game.
