The Pakistan Cricket Board has released a snapshot of the national team ahead of their departure for the T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
Babar Azam will head the team for the first time at the T20 World Cup, which runs from October 17 to November 14 in the UAE and Oman.
Babar Azam will captain his team for the first time in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Babar has led Pakistan in 28 matches so far, 15 of which he has won. At Pakistan’s pre-departure press conference, he said, “I am very thrilled and proud to travel to the T20 World Cup as a captain.”
“We understand the pressure and tremendous intensity of each game, particularly the first.” We’re hoping to win the game and keep the momentum going.
On October 24, Pakistan will kick off their campaign against India in a high-profile match. Pakistan has failed to beat India in a World Cup match, in both ODIs and T20Is, but Azam is eager to put the past behind them.
