Baby Shark becomes World’s 1st Video to Reach the Top Ten Billion Views on YouTube

According to YouTube, the video “Baby Shark Dance” received 10 billion (yes, billion with a B) views on Wednesday, making it the first video ever to do so. Baby Shark’s smash hit Despacito, which Luis Fonsi’s smash song Despacito passed in 2020, is the second most watched video of all time.

In a statement, Min-seok Kim, CEO of The Pinkfong Company, said, “We are happy to announce that our beloved Baby Shark has achieved yet another great milestone.” “We are deeply grateful for our fans’ love and support around the world, and we look forward to producing more fun and innovative material in 2022 and beyond, as well as expanding Baby Shark’s universe.”

The song was launched in June 2016 and has since been a worldwide hit with both kids and adults.

The song is RIAA Diamond-certified and has gone platinum 11 times, including a 20-week run on Billboard’s Hot 100. Baby Shark has a toy line, a television show, and a live concert tour.
