During a provincial cabinet meeting on Monday Balochistan’s Chief Minister, Jam Kamal Khan approved a five-year Education Sector Plan (2020-25).
The proposal was prepared in collaboration with a ‘Global Alliance for Education’ multi-stakeholder and funding forum, and under the supervision of the Secondary Education Department’s Policy Planning and Implementation Unit.
At the meeting, the CM emphasized the province’s need for education, health, and sports and announced that the financial needs of the plan would be addressed by providing the provincial government and its development partners with funding.
The provincial cabinet approved the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sehar Organization for the implementation of a three-year Environmental Resources Management (ERM) project after deliberating on a long agenda. The Alternate Learning Program (ALP) centres in the Chagai and Pishin districts of Balochistan will be developed under this initiative, and an estimated 500 Afghan refugees and children between the ages of 10 and 14 from the host communities will be enrolled.
The Balochistan Local Councils (Model) Sub-Rules for the 2020 Registration of Births and Deaths and the Balochistan Holy Quran (Printing, Recording) Amendment Bill 2020 for the preservation of the Quran pages were also approved by the meeting.
