BCCI Agrees to Play Asia Cup Under Pakistan’s Hybrid Model

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has agreed to the suggestion made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to play the Asia Cup using a Hybrid Model. This means that some matches will be held in Pakistan, while the rest will take place at neutral venues. The specific neutral venue has not been decided yet, but an announcement will be made soon.

The BCCI’s Secretary, Jay Shah, has given his approval to the PCB’s proposal. However, there is a condition that Pakistan must confirm in writing their participation in the ICC World Cup, which will be hosted by India.

The details of the neutral venue for India’s matches in the Asia Cup could be either the UAE or Sri Lanka. It is important to note that the ICC World Cup is scheduled to be held in India next year, while Pakistan will be hosting the Asia Cup before that.

Initially, there were disagreements between the two boards, with India refusing to play in Pakistan and Pakistan declining to go to India. However, they are currently in discussions about the Hybrid Model proposed for the Asia Cup.
