Better to Quit Government with more inflation: Maryam Nawaz

On Thursday, PMLN Vice President Maryam Nawaz said it was adequate to leave the government than burden the people with more inflation, which she said was exacerbated by Imran Khan-led previous government over the past four years.

At a rally in Sargodha, Maryam said it was easy for Nawaz to “bend before the IMF and agree” to withdraw subsidies that would lead to another round of severe inflation, but “he (Nawaz) prefers it to resign, rather than resign burdening people with a new price increase”.

“I’m with you,” he told his followers. “I think it’s better to say goodbye to the government than to ‘slaughter’ the public under even more inflation to bury.

She requested demonstrators if they would give her party a two-thirds majority to solve the country’s problems over the next five years. To which his followers answered yes.

Maryam told the government was asked why it decided to come to power “only for a month”.

He claimed, “We took office because Imran was also willing to rig the next elections. We overthrew his government and failed in the plan he made for the next 12 years”.

Furthermore, Imran needs to realize his game is up, the PMLN leader said.

He also opposed Imran’s linking of the chicken price increase to Hamza Shehbaz’s poultry farms, saying that “chicken prices increased when tons of chicken meat was burned on the roof of his residence in Bani Gala”.

Maryam called Imran a “serpent” and accused him of biting the hand that fed him.
