Bol News Taken Off Air for Airing Judicial Complex Clashes Despite PEMRA Ban

Bol News, a significant private news outlet, was shut down for broadcasting violent altercations between Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf employees and Islamabad police inside the Judiciary Complex.

According to reports, the channel was shut down after airing violent fights in which numerous PTI employees and police officers were hurt.

The nation’s media watchdog issued a warning to all news and current affairs outlets on Saturday to discontinue live coverage from outside the Judiciary Complex, but the private news channel—a well-known opponent of the current administration—kept airing the crisis live, leading PEMRA to take action.

The media watchdog had already claimed that live coverage of violent skirmishes involving law enforcement caused alarm among the ranks of the police and could further exacerbate the situation.
