British Airways Launches New Uniform with Hijab Option

British Airways has introduced a new uniform in almost 20 years, allowing the choice of wearing Hijab. The uniform is the depiction of Savile Row work and stitched precisely by Ozwald Boateng.

The permission of hijab is given in respect of the cultural and religious sentiments as well as for the convenience of women staff. The ground staff and engineers will be wearing the uniform first followed by the crew members.

The uniform designed for men is fine three-piece suit, while for women it includes multiple options including skirts, trousers, tunic, hijab, and even jumpsuit. As per the requests of engineers and ground staff, amendments have been made to make the access of pocket tools convenient and choosing a relative glove fabric for touchscreens usage.

The long-established theme of the British Airways uniform has been conserved by producing a fusion of red and blue for both men and women staff. Moreover, the pattern in the uniform is inspired from the air movement above the plane’s wing.

British Airline will recycle the previous uniforms, maintaining the safety of environment and promoting recycling.
