Bus Terminals in Islamabad Closed Ahead of Iranian President’s Arrival

Security arrangements have been strengthened in Islamabad ahead of the arrival of the Iranian President, with authorities taking several steps to ensure safety during the high-level visit.

As part of the security plan, several bus terminals across the capital have temporarily stopped operations. Major terminals, including Faizabad and Chongi No. 26, have been closed, and services are expected to remain suspended until the official visit concludes.

The Red Zone has also been sealed, with entry restricted to authorized individuals only. The area, which includes important government offices and diplomatic locations, is under strict security monitoring.

More than a thousand police personnel and paramilitary forces have been deployed across Islamabad. Security teams have been placed along important routes, sensitive locations, and areas connected to the movement of the visiting delegation.

Authorities have also prepared special traffic and security arrangements to manage the situation and avoid any inconvenience during official activities. Public transport services, including Metro and e-bus operations, may experience temporary disruptions depending on security requirements.

Officials said the measures are part of routine security protocols for visits by foreign leaders and are intended to ensure a peaceful environment throughout the visit.

The visit is considered an important diplomatic event, with meetings expected between Iranian leadership and Pakistani officials on regional and bilateral matters. Due to the importance of the occasion, authorities are closely monitoring security conditions across the capital.

Citizens have been advised to plan their travel accordingly and cooperate with security personnel during the temporary restrictions.

The arrangements will remain in place until the completion of the official engagements, after which normal transport and movement restrictions are expected to be restored.
