A Canadian airline has approached Pakistani authorities to request permission to launch five direct flights each week between Canada and Pakistan. If approved, the new service will improve air travel between the two countries and make it easier for passengers to travel for business, tourism, education, and family visits.
Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Canada, Muhammad Saleem, said the proposal is a positive sign of the growing relationship between Pakistan and Canada.
He noted that the development comes after the recent visit of Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand to Pakistan, which helped strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
Muhammad Saleem also shared that high-level Pakistani delegations are expected to visit Canada next year. These visits are aimed at increasing cooperation in different sectors, including trade, investment, and economic development.
He added that both countries are working to build stronger partnerships and create more opportunities for businesses and investors.
The large Pakistani community living in Canada is also expected to benefit from the proposed direct flights. Easier travel will help families stay connected and make it more convenient for students, professionals, and businesspeople to travel between the two countries.
If the proposal receives approval, the new flights could improve people-to-people connections and encourage greater cultural and economic exchanges. Better air connectivity may also support tourism, increase business opportunities, and strengthen long-term relations between Pakistan and Canada.
