The Lahore High Court has introduced a special scheme that lets judicial officers in Punjab buy their official cars at very low prices. District and Sessions Judges, Civil Judges, Family Judges, and other eligible officers can now purchase vehicles like Suzuki Alto, Toyota Corolla, and Honda City for only Rs 250,000 to Rs 350,000.
This facility is also available to judges in special courts and those working with superior courts or government law ministries. Around 2,000 judicial officers across Punjab are expected to benefit from this initiative.
The move aims to support judges by offering them an affordable way to own reliable vehicles that they have been using for official duties. Interested officers must submit their pay orders to the Lahore High Court Registrar by July 22, 2026.
For many people this scheme is a practical step for hardworking judges. However, some have raised questions about the low prices and transparency. The Lahore High Court has not issued a detailed public statement yet, but the offer is seen as a way to ease financial burdens on judicial officers.
This decision comes at a time when vehicle prices are high, and inflation is affecting everyone. For many judges, it could mean getting a good car at the price of a motorcycle, making their daily commute easier and more comfortable.
