Chikoo & TNS Partner Up to Empower Students to Sell Online Instantly

Chikoo, a platform which enables anyone to set up their website in under 3 minutes, has recently partnered with renowned school, TNS, to teach children between the ages of 7 and 11 how to set up their own website and start selling online instantly.

Recently, there has been an increase in popularity and a rise in the need to go digital and sell online. There is a common notion that building and hosting a website is a long, difficult and expensive process despite its necessity and the fact that it adds to credibility and generating sales. According to statistics, 75% of people believe that they judge the credibility of any business through its website.[1]

Chikoo is a platform that unlocks the ability for any seller, formal or informal, to start selling online via their own ecommerce ready website in less than 3 minutes, without the typical upfront or ongoing investment and technical requirements. By simplifying the seller e-commerce experience, Chikoo seeks to bring thousands of businesses, of all natures, and sizes, online, to help them cater to the rising consumer demand for digital commerce experiences.

TNS in collaboration with Chikoo empowered students to create their own website and instantly sell online. This partnership with TNS was spread over a month during which the students learnt how to set up a business which included choosing products, how to price & photograph them and then finally how to market and ship them off to their customers. The results were quite incredible with over 100 stores created and 200+ orders delivered within a week.

During the tenure of the course, students developed business websites ranging from a signature sandwich shop with tailor-made recipes by Hanss – a student of Grade 3, a baking shop named ‘Fantasico’ by Sarim of Grade 4, a business selling uniquely designed masks – a product very relevant in the market of today created by Aahil, also from Grade 4, to a company that sold toys made out of recycled materials which was the brainchild of Rumaysa of Grade 2.

Commenting on the project, Raza Matin, stated; “Digital platforms and channels are the future for not just individuals but businesses as well. It is therefore crucial that the generations to come must be introduced to these tools and concepts from an early age. At Chikoo, we have made it extremely simple for anyone to create a website which serves as a fundamental element for any startup, person or institution. We aim to bring simplicity and convenience for users, no matter which age group they belong to and this partnership with TNS is a personification of our efforts.”
