China Built 10.8km Highway Tunnel under River worth $785 Million in 4 Years

China’s largest underwater highway tunnel is now open to vehicle traffic after nearly four years of construction.

The Taihu tunnel lengths for 10.79 kilometres (6.65 miles) beneath Lake Taihu in eastern China’s Jiangsu Province, roughly 50 kilometres east of Shanghai.

The huge project cost $785 million (5 billion yuan) and took four years to complete, according to Jiangsu government officials.
