China has strongly condemned the United States’ blockade of Iranian ports, calling the move “dangerous and irresponsible” at a time of rising regional tensions. Beijing warned that such actions could further inflame an already volatile situation in the Middle East and undermine efforts to maintain stability.
The development came after Donald Trump ordered restrictions on ships entering or leaving Iran, following the collapse of peace talks. The decision has sparked concern internationally, with China cautioning that unilateral measures risk escalating conflict rather than resolving it.
Chinese officials also highlighted the potential threat to global trade, particularly through the Strait of Hormuz, a key maritime route for energy shipments. Any disruption in this critical passage, they noted, could have serious consequences for international markets and the safe movement of vessels.
Beijing urged all sides to exercise restraint, return to diplomatic engagement, and work toward peaceful solutions to prevent further escalation in the region.
