Chinese Companies to Set up Cement Factories for Zero Duty on Products to Boost Exports

In recent years, Cement clinker’s exports from Pakistan to China has increased, according to China Economic Net (CEN) on Sunday quoting Commercial Counsellor of Embassy of Pakistan Beijing Badar uz Zaman.

Furthermore, large Chinese companies are being invited by Pakistan to build up cement factories and they want the products to be duty-free to boost their exports to China.

According to official data from the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China (GACC) , China imported 359,621.31 tonnes of cement clinkers worth around $15 million from Pakistan in 2021 and was one of Pakistan’s main destinations for cement clinkers exports, whereas in 2020 it was 563,622.99 tonnes worth $22 million.

Badar uz Zaman told CEN that If we get instant duty-free access to cement clinker, then we will have the same conditions as in China and the  export’s quantity will increase exponentially.
