A government primary school in Faisalabad has been badly affected by sewage water, highlighting serious sanitation problems in the area. At Government Primary School 220 R.B II, dirty water entered the premises, making it difficult for students to attend classes.
Reports said banners of the “Clean Punjab” campaign featuring Maryam Nawaz were seen floating in the sewage water inside the school. The situation has drawn attention to the gap between public campaigns and ground realities.
The issue was not limited to the school building. Areas around Alpha Road were also flooded with dirty water, creating problems for residents and students. Classrooms became inaccessible, forcing many children to stay home as the conditions were unsafe and unhygienic.
Local residents have blamed WASA Faisalabad for the situation. They said the drainage system has been blocked for several days and their complaints have not been addressed. According to them, the problem has continued without any effective response from authorities.
Residents also pointed out that the city’s sewerage system is outdated and cannot manage the needs of a growing population. This has led to frequent waterlogging and sanitation issues in different parts of the city.
Experts say poor drainage systems can create health risks and disrupt daily life, especially for children. They stress the need for urgent repairs and long-term planning to improve infrastructure.
The incident has raised concerns about urban management and the need for better sanitation services to prevent such situations in the future.
