Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a landmark initiative to distribute 50,000 tractors to farmers over the next three years, describing it as the largest tractor distribution programme in Punjab’s history.
The scheme aims to support small and medium-scale farmers by improving access to modern agricultural machinery, increasing productivity, and reducing cultivation costs.
The provincial government said the programme is part of its broader strategy to modernise agriculture, strengthen food security, and improve farmers’ incomes.
Officials believe the initiative will help accelerate mechanised farming across the province, boost crop yields, and provide long-term support to the agricultural sector while encouraging sustainable rural development.
