COAS Gen Asim Munir Meets PM Shehbaz Sharif, Briefs on Saudi Visit

On Thursday, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Asim Munir, held a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss important operational matters pertaining to the Pakistan Army.

During this meeting, General Munir provided a comprehensive briefing to the Prime Minister regarding his recent visit to Saudi Arabia, focusing particularly on discussions related to bolstering defense cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Prime Minister Sharif expressed his contentment with the outcomes of General Munir’s visit to Saudi Arabia, indicating a positive assessment of the developments and agreements discussed during the trip.

During his visit to Saudi Arabia, General Munir had a significant meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman, where both parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening defense cooperation between the two nations.

The Saudi Crown Prince expressed a keen interest in deepening bilateral relations with Pakistan and reiterated the Kingdom’s steadfast support for Pakistan both now and in the future.

General Munir also engaged in discussions with key Saudi military officials, including Saudi Defence Minister Prince Khalid Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Chief of General Staff Saudi Armed Forces General Fayyadh Bin Hamed Al Ruwaili, and Saudi Assistant Minister of Defense Engineer Talal Abdullah Al Otaibi, among others.

These discussions aimed to enhance mutual understanding and cooperation in defense matters, paving the way for closer collaboration between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in various strategic areas.
