Competing Among 175 Cities, the Peshawar BRT Project has Won Another Major International Award

The Peshawar BRT project has received yet another significant international honor. Zu Peshawar, one of the five finalists, was given a special prize by the World Resource Institute for their remarkably good performance in the context of CO*VID and the national economic crisis.

Details indicate that Peshawar BRT, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s first public transit initiative, has won yet another international honor.


The World Resources Institute reportedly gave Zu Peshawar a prize worth 25,000 dollars for being one of the five finalists. At the ceremony in New York, the prize was given to Fayyaz Ahmed, the CEO of Trans Peshawar.


260 projects from 175 cities in 65 countries were submitted for this award.
