CRICKETER SHADAB KHAN PLEDGES FUND TO TRAIN PAKISTANI OLYMPIC ATHLETES

According to the sources, cricketer Shadab Khan has promised a fund to prepare athletes for future upcoming challenges, after athlete Talha Talib’s impressive act in the 67kg men’s weightlifting challenge at the Tokyo Olympics on Sunday

Talha Talib belonged to Gujranwala, ranked 5th in the 67 kilograms weightlifting challenge of the Olympics 2020, and lacked just 2 points to achieve the bronze medal for the country, after 29 years.

Talib missed the mark concerning securing the maiden weightlifting Olympic medal on Sunday, coming in 5th, a noteworthy accomplishment given that he contended without the help of an expert mentor from his nation of origin.

After the competition ended, famous cricketer Shadab Khan, with the help of his Twitter handle, announces to give the fund the training of Olympic Athletes.

The cricketer said in the tweet that “WITHIN THE NEXT YEAR, I PLEDGE TO SET UP A FUND FOR PAKISTAN’S OLYMPIC’S ATHLETES TO PREPARE FOR THE NEXT OLYMPICS. LOOKING AT PEOPLE LIKE TALHA TALIB, WE ALL SHOULD PLAY OUR PART IN SUPPORTING PAKISTAN’S HEROES. PLEASE JOIN ME FOR PAKISTAN.”

Shadab Khan also requested concerning authorities to take notice of talented athletes like Talib, by tweeting that “PAKISTAN IS PROUD OF TALHA TALIB. URGE SPONSORS & SPORTS ADMINISTRATION TO HELP ATHLETES LIKE TALHA, THEY HAVE POTENTIAL TO BRING HOME THE OLYMPIC MEDALS & MAKE  THE PAKISTAN PROUD IF GIVEN FACILITIES AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT”.

The famous national team player further added that ‘heroes’ like 21-yar-old Talib should serve as an encouragement for people to support sports in Pakistan.
