DG ISPR Ahmed Sharif among three Major General Promoted to Rank Of Lieutenant General

Three major generals from the Pakistan Army, including ISPR Director General Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, have received promotions to the rank of lieutenant general.

The other two officers who have been promoted are Major General Omer Ahmed Bukhari and Major General Inayat Hussain.

These promotions were made by Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, who assigned them to new roles, although there hasn’t been any official announcement yet.

In his new position, Lt Gen Chaudhry will continue as DG ISPR, while Lt Gen Bukhari will take on the role of Commander of 11 Corps in Peshawar, and Lt Gen Hussain will assume the position of chief of logistics services at GHQ.

Both Lt Gen Bukhari and Lt Gen Hussain have impressive military backgrounds. Lt Gen Bukhari was honored with the Sword of Honour during the 84 Long Course, and Lt Gen Hussain was awarded the presidential gold medal for his outstanding service.

Before their promotions, both officers held positions as vice chiefs of general staff at GHQ.
