On Sunday, PM Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said that completing the Diamer-Bhasha Dam would serve as a future lifeline for the country’s economy, increasing power generation and agricultural activities.
After briefing on the construction of Diamer-Bhasha Dam here, the Prime Minister said the 4,500MW project is of immense importance to the country’s economy and stressed that it should be completed ahead of the 2029 construction schedule.
“I insist on getting ahead of his 2029 schedule and completing it by 202627. It will be a miracle if we can do this. Nothing is impossible in this world. We can achieve it if we move forward together,” he added.
The Prime Minister said that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif started the project in 2016 and that the PMLN government provided funds for the land acquisition.
