Dollar Hits All-Time High at Rs 192

The Pakistani rupee continued its slide against the US dollar on Thursday as it fell to a record low of Rs 192 in the interbank market.

According to the Pakistan Forex Association, the dollar broke above the 191 mark at the start of the day, raising to 192.20 rupees around 11:45 Am., up to 2 rupees from the previous day’s close 190.20, a record for the dollar before today’s session.

On Thursday, the Pakistani rupee continued its slide against the US dollar, falling to a record low of Rs 192 in the interbank market.

The local currency is under pressure due to a shortage of foreign currency inflows, a delay in the prelaunch of the IMF (International Monetary Fund) programme, and a lack of financial support from friendly countries.
