In the wake of increasing street crimes in Lahore, the Dolphin Force has introduced bicycles to control the situation. The force has decided to employ bicycles along with the heavy bikes patrolling the streets and markets of Lahore.
15 cycles have been given to the department in the initial phase to evaluate the success of the initiative. The project has also faced criticism from the professional cyclists, raising concerns about the quality of bikes. Some also commented that mountain bikes for street patrolling are not a good idea. They also criticized that the bikes are not an appropriate size for some dolphin officers.
Will this initiative improve the street crime rate in Lahore will be evaluated in the coming months.
