Dubai to Increase its Public Beaches by 5 times, Announces Sheikh Mohammed

Dubai is set to witness expansion of its public beaches, as announced by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He is the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. By 2040, the coastline will grow by 400%. It will offer residents and tourists the opportunity to explore 105km of public beaches, an increase from the existing 21km.

Moreover, the services available at these beach venues will witness growth of 300%. This expansion includes the addition of shops and restaurants, water sports facilities, family spaces, and the establishment of a marine sanctuary.

Sheikh Mohammed shared a video on Twitter, in which Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, can be seen releasing turtles into the sea at Jebel Ali Beach. Moreover, the video captured the moment of applause as the turtles swam away, embarking on a new journey.

Furthermore, it reflects on the development. Sheikh Mohammed emphasized that Dubai’s growth is an ongoing process, building on the foundation laid with the city’s first urban plan in the 1960s. He expressed the commitment to continually enhance the standard of living for individuals and families through global services and projects. The forthcoming urban projects will align with Dubai’s economic and tourism objectives for the next decade.

Sheikh Mohammed further stated that Dubai will strive to outdo itself, aiming to become an ideal destination for both residents and visitors alike. The ultimate goal is to solidify Dubai’s position as one of the world’s most advanced cities. Preserving the distinctiveness that makes Dubai synonymous with success and accomplishing the seemingly impossible will remain a key focus.
