Dubai Voted Among Top 3 Summer Destinations For US Travelers

Dubai has emerged as one of the top summer destinations for travelers from the United States, according to a recent survey by Trivago, a renowned global hotel and accommodation search platform based in Germany. The survey, conducted online from March 13 to March 17, 2023, gathered responses from 2,000 US adults aged 18 and above who were planning vacations within the next year.

The findings of the survey revealed that Dubai secured the third spot among the most popular destinations, following Honolulu and Tokyo. This indicates that an increasing number of Americans are choosing Dubai as their preferred summer getaway over other popular locations such as Istanbul, Lahaina (US), Antalya, Palm Beach (Aruba), Hong Kong, Belek (Turkiye), and Paradise Island City (Bahamas).

Dubai’s tourism sector has experienced a significant rebound following the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, with visitor numbers approaching pre-pandemic levels. Recent data from Dubai Economy and Tourism indicates that from January to April 2023, there were 6.02 million international visitors, surpassing the 5.10 million visitors during the same period last year and slightly lower than the 6.26 million recorded in 2019.

It is worth noting that around 7% of the international visitors during the first four months of this year were Americans, showcasing the increasing diversification of tourists visiting the Emirate.

While the survey also highlighted a 23.6% increase in lodging prices in Dubai over the past two years, this has not deterred US consumers from traveling. In fact, 77% of the respondents stated that they plan to use their savings to finance their trips this year, indicating their determination to pursue their travel plans despite concerns about a potential recession and rising costs.
