Clarence Seedorf, a former player and manager in the Netherlands, converted to Islam after learning more about the religion from his partner Sophia Makramati.
Seedorf is recognised as one of the most successful players in the history of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Champions League, as he is the first and only player to have won the competition with three different clubs.
Because of his Iranian acquaintance, the footballer has converted to Islam.
After converting to Islam, he said on his Instagram account, “A special thanks to all the lovely messages in celebration of me joining the Muslim family.” I’m overjoyed and delighted to be joining all of my brothers and sisters around the world, especially my darling Sophia.
