E-Voting System to Be Introduced for Overseas Pakistanis in Next Elections: IT Minister

Syed Amin-Ul-Haque, Pakistan’s Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunications, declared that an e-voting system will be introduced in Pakistan for the next general elections in 2023, in order to make voting easier for Pakistanis living abroad.

On Monday, the minister spoke at a ceremony in Karachi commemorating Sehat Kahani’s funding, saying that Pakistan’s diaspora community will be able to vote through e-voting, ensuring their full participation.

In addition, the minister announced that the government is investing Rs. 22 billion to boost internet connectivity in the country, with rural areas such as Tharparkar, Rajapan, former FATA, and Dera Bugti being prioritized.
