Eidhi Foundation in Pakistan is World’s Largest Volunteer Ambulance Service

The Edhi Foundation, based in Karachi, Pakistan, proudly runs the world’s biggest volunteer ambulance service since 1997.

The main office is in Karachi, and they do various things like providing a 24-hour emergency ambulance service. They also help homeless people, offer free healthcare, support with drug rehabilitation, manage orphanages, and provide adoption services. They are also involved in disaster relief both locally and internationally.

Back in 2005, the foundation gave $100,000 to help after Hurricane Katrina. It all started with Abdul Sattar Edhi creating a small shelter, and now it has grown to have over 300 centers across Pakistan.
