Emergency Declared in Turkiye as Death Toll Nears 8000

As rescue workers looked for survivors, dead bodies of victims were seen in various sections of the nation, which has experienced at least five significant earthquakes since Monday.

On Tuesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared a state of emergency in the 10 provinces most affected by the earthquake, as it is known that about 8,000 people died in the recent catastrophe.

Since more than 70 countries, including Pakistan, are sending relief to Turkey and Syria, swift action would enable the entry of rescue personnel and financial assistance into the affected regions.

Rescue efforts went round and round as rescuers fought to get as many victims out of the rubble as possible.
