Pakistani actor Emmad Irfani has once again drawn attention online after fans suggested that he could play former Prime Minister and cricket star Imran Khan in a possible biopic.
The discussion gained momentum after Irfani shared photographs from a London trip. Many social media users pointed out his resemblance to Khan, particularly his appearance in the 1990s. Some fans described him as a suitable choice for a future film about Khan’s life.
The comparison is not new. Irfani discussed it during an appearance on ARY News’ programme Har Lamha Purjosh in March 2026. He said people began comparing him with Khan after photographs from a charity shoot at Lord’s in London were shared online. Irfani called the comparison a major compliment and praised Khan’s charisma.
However, there is currently no confirmed announcement of a new Imran Khan biopic featuring Irfani. The actor has also not been officially cast in such a project.
Irfani started his career as a model before moving into acting. He has appeared in dramas including Jalan, Cheekh, Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum and Kafeel.
Interestingly, an earlier planned film titled Kaptaan had also considered Irfani for the role before Abdul Mannan was selected.
