In order to help farmers bridge the gap, agricultural experts from the province believe that the sector needs a dedicated online portal.
Farmers are supposed to have access to modern standards, experts and researchers via the proposed web portal.
“The Agricultural sector in Pakistan has enormous untapped potential and a dedicated portal will help farmers improve their yield,” stated one expert.
Not only will the proposed platform act as an essential source of knowledge for the farming community, but it will also help the country to face challenges of food security in the future.
One Lahore-based farmer said it wasn’t enough when asked about the quality of knowledge available to farmers. “The data that the provincial department shares, is usually one-sided and does not help,” said Rana Mubashir Hassan, who owns a farm in Lahore.
