Fawad Alam Sets A New Record For The Fastest Four Centuries

On Sunday, Alam scored his fourth Test century after returning to international cricket after a decade to spearhead a comeback against the West Indies. With 513 runs in 11 innings at an average of 57, he is also the eighth-highest run-scorer in Test cricket this year.

Alam also became the fastest Asian batsman to score five Test hundreds during his innings. The 35-year-old set a new record by scoring five hundred in in 22 innings, beating Cheteshwar Pujara’s previous record of 24 innings.

The left-handed batsman, who has shown to be one of the most consistent Test batsmen in recent years, has rewritten history by becoming the first Asian to reach five hundreds in the fastest time possible.

At Sabina Park, Fawad Alam became the sixth Pakistani batsman to reach a century.
