According to a news report, A threatened female Markhor was fired on and wounded by an unidentified visitor in the picturesque valley of Chitral. And Action is being taken to locate the accused and FIR is registered against that tourist.
As per the statement from the KP’s Wildlife dept Officials, this incident occurs near the Garam Chashma road, where a tourist hit the markhor by a bullet and the wounded female markhor then fell into the river and was rescued from the river after hectic attempts and efforts.
KP MPA Faisal Amin Khan answered a tweet that being circulated on social media user’s posts regarding the issue which stated: “Today, I was at “Shahr e Sham” Chitral with our guests to see the beautiful & innocent Markhors come down to the river every afternoon. While coming back, we came across this painful scene of firing a Markhor. Two local boys were there, they told us that tourists from the down district in a corolla shot down this Markhor while [it was] drinking water.”
Faisal Amin Khan tweeted that FIR (first information report) has been registered against the culprits at the Chitral police station and every possible effort will be made to find them.
