First-Ever Research Center of Intercropping at IUB has been officially approved in Pakistan

According to the report published by the China Economic Net, the establishment of Pakistan’s National Research Centre of Intercropping (NRCI) at Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) has been approved officially.

As per the sources, this research center will be the first-ever national research centre related to the intercropping technologies in the country, Pakistan.

However, before this there was no intercropping national research centre in Pakistan. This is the first centre that is expected to be affiliated with the China’s key laboratory of Ministry of Agriculture that is undertaken by Sichuan Agricultural University. This university has a research centre for intercropping where research is conducted especially soybean and maize.

Chinese are involved in this project because they have well experience in this field and its technology. Moreover, it is also learned that 25 acres of the total land has been allocated officially for the centre in Pakistan.
