First Industrial Unit Being Established in Rashakai SEZ: Asad Umar

On Sunday, Planning and Development Minister Asad Umar announced the establishment of the first industrial unit in the Rashakai Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

He said on Twitter that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is moving into an exciting period of industrial cooperation, with “international investment shifting technology and creating employment.”

Prime Minister Imran Khan had previously claimed that the Rashakai SEZ would be crucial to the growth and prosperity of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The completion of this project will make it easier for local and foreign investors to do business in the region, he added.

“The development of this zone, as well as peace in Afghanistan, will aid in the development of connectivity to Central Asia, which has the potential to change the region’s destiny,” Prime Minister Khan said.
