As per the Higher Education Commission, the Ministry of Education’s five-day attendance regulation only applies to schools, not universities.
“The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan clarifies that all universities will continue to work in compliance with the HEC’s earlier guidelines,” it started a Twitter thread to remove any misunderstandings among students.
The HEC went on to state that the education ministry’s recent announcement is “about the resumption of a daily 5-day school week for urban centers of Karachi, Hyderabad, Lahore and Peshawar.”
Higher education institutions will “continue academic and research operations in compliance with the applicable guidance already given by the HEC,” as per the statement.
