Floods Cost Pakistan $30 Billion and Counting: UN Cheif

Antonio Guterres appealed for huge International support for Pakistan while visiting recently, Islamabad presented an estimated cost of flood damage at $30 billion.

Antonio said, “I call on the international community that Pakistan needs massive financial support, as according to initial estimates the losses are around $30 billion”.

Devastating monsoon rains and glaciers got melt in northern areas that had caused flood which washed out the houses, roads, railway tracks,bridges, livestock and crops, and more about 1,400 people lost their lives.

The government estimated that approximately more than 33 million people have been affected. The main cause of flood is the climate change, according to the blame by the government and Guterres.

Huge areas of the country got ruined and million of people got displaced.
