Former Prime Minister Re-Arrested in Cipher Case After Released from Attock Jail

After the suspension of his sentence in the Toshakhana criminal case, the Former Prime Minister has been arrested again. This recent arrest is connected to the cipher case, and he will be in judicial remand until August 30. The decision was announced by Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain of the Official Secrets Act court.

The special court has sent the written verdict to the superintendent of Attock Jail, instructing them to bring the Former PM to court on August 30. The judge emphasized that the individual is in judicial remand due to a case under the Official Secrets Act.

Therefore, he will stay in custody and appear in court on the specified date. Earlier, the Islamabad High Court had suspended the Former PM’s sentence in the Toshakhana criminal case.

A division bench led by IHC Chief Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri had accepted the Former PM’s appeal and made this decision.
